Republican House Oversight Chairman James Comer of Kentucky shouted down Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) at a hearing on Thursday after the Democrat tried to enter evidence into the record.

During the first impeachment inquiry hearing into President Joe Biden, Goldman made a routine request to have a document entered into the record.

“Point of order,” Goldman said.

“You’ll have five minutes,” Comer replied. “You’re out of order! You’re out of order, Mr. Goldman!”

“Mr. Chairman, the rules require you to recognize them,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) interrupted.

“No,” Comer stated.

“Yes, for a point of order, they absolutely do,” Raskin shot back. “Mr. Chairman, can I just make a parliamentary inquiry, then? Are we not to make points of order on either side during the question?”

“I’m trying to introduce evidence,” Goldman stated.

“You’ve already had your evidence,” Comer fired back, shutting down the request.
