E. Jean Carroll just won her second civil case against Donald Trump, this time by summary judgment from the judge. A trial will still happen in this case, but it will only be to determine the damages.
Trump is now screwing up so badly that he’s losing trials before they begin. Part of this is because Trump is just really guilty of a lot of things. But it also suggests that as his legal troubles mount and overlap, it’s all getting away from him – and his co-conspirators.
Rudy Giuliani recently lost a summary judgment in a civil case, after he failed to even make satisfactory filings. Perhaps he was distracted by the criminal charges against him. And Sidney Powell is now begging the courts to delay her civil case, saying that her criminal case is getting in the way.
In any case, let’s not lose track of the fact that E. Jean Carroll – who likes to point out that she’s a ‘little old lady’ who’s about to turn eighty years old – has now defeated a former U.S. President (and her rapist) twice in court. She’s earned her place in the history books.
